A team roping champion whose owner was gracious enough to allow me to take reference photos of them at the Mississippi State Fairgrounds during the Dixie National Rodeo – the largest rodeo east of the Mississippi River. I thought it ironic to do a graphite drawing of a horse named “Charcoal”.
